Chances Signing Azzi Fudd

My personal opinion just based on what I have read is we have just as good
a chance as any other school if not a little better. This is why I say this.

...First and probably most important. Mr. Fudd is extremely involved in
her recruitment. He is looking for the best school all around for his
daughter. He even made comments of concern of the recent frequent transfer
from one school to another. She is extremely bright and is involved in other
activities besides sports and basketball.

...I also believe it is going to be about more than just a relationship with
one player, i.e. Sam and Beuchers. She and her dad is going to want her to
be comfortable with the coaches, program, and school. This is another
reason NI replacement is named soon.

...It has been mentioned matching up with current or possible incoming
players Sam, Beuchers, and Clark. Azzi, Beuchers, and Clark may have
be similar in someways. But none will probably play PG. They will need
a very good PG to get them the ball. So I will add in this name as
a possibility. She is in the same class as Azzi and currently ranked the
number 1 PG and number 2 overall player. She has all ready visited ND
unofficially. That is Olivia Miles (gee I hope I got her name right).
We could have the chance of signing the number 1 and 2 players in the class
of 2021. Wouldn't that open up some eyes.

...Azzi is coming off 2 very serious injuries. That is another reason
why I believe Mr. Fudd is going to be looking very strongly at programs
to see which one will be best at taking care of his daughter. And it
could also be about more than basketball. What school is going to give
her the best opportunity after basketball. I believe Mr Fudd is not going
to be looking at just a basketball school. He I believe is going to be
looking at the big picture. Just my opinion.

...Hopefully we will all know her intentions shortly after November.

Am aware of her recent knee injuries which sounds like it may keep her out all of next year. What is the other one?

Believe she tore and had surgery on both ACL and MCL. I maybe wrong on both
though. But know for sure ACL. That is what I ment by injuries.

If we sign Clark, Maddy, Azzi, Oliva, Destiny, Kelly, Lattimore (Canada),
Patterson and L Reynolds 2022. We will be extremely strong for years. Only
Destiny and Lattimore are reaches at this time. We would have the best
guards second to none for a while. I do like to dream but sometimes
dreams can turn into reality.

...I think our chances are solid. UConn, ND and Maryland seem to be spending the most energy in pursuit of the Fudds on a consistent basis over the years (Maryland being the "home team," if you will).

There are posters on every collegiate board that swear the Fudds (Azzi and her dad, Tim) have reached a "silent commitment" with this school or that, but I'll only believe what I see when she makes an announcement.

Favorites seem to ebb and flow. When Sam Brunelle committed to ND, there was talk of a trail of Sam friends and/or peers (Aliyah Boston, Paige Bueckers, Azzi Fudd, etc.) following, but Boston is at South Carolina, Haley Jones at Stanford and Bueckers committed to UConn, so kids will do what's right for them.

Still, UConn followers currently think Bueckers and Fudd are really tight and that will put the Huskies over the top with thread. One could buy the argument that he makes even a great player better, since Paige committed.

On the other hand, hard to argue with the success that MM has had developing ND guards for the pros: Skylar, K-Mac (Buckets), Jewel, Arike, Jackie, Marina (who will get better when she goes overseas)in the WNBA and Natalie Novosel and Lindsay in Australia.

Ultimately, I think the Fudds will bring their own set of criteria to this decision. Candidly, I'd feel better if ND can bring home some combination of Clark, Westbeld and Kelly in the 2020 class to play with Sam and Anaya and possibly Fudd.

Bad luck

Unfortunately Natalie Novosel tore the same ACL in a pickup gamein June. She had just recovered from the ACL tear she suffered during a game at the end of the 2018 season.
Her surgery is scheduled for next week and it's doubtful she will play again.I for one am sending her great healing vibes!!!

Aw, That's Horrendous!

The same ACL? Geesh. I've read about how much work went into getting ready for a return to the Australian League again, where she had become a staple.
Agree with you...this might be the final straw, given her age.

At the very least, here's hoping for a sucessful surgery and recovery.
