He might be highest paid in the league now.

I am happy for him and happy for the Pistons (long time Pistons fan back to the 1970's). Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey should be pleased. They have several other young guys with high potential - including 3-4 big bodies plus likely to get Jarace Walker in draft. He'll have talent but extremely inexperienced.

I got to sit courtside for a Pistons/Bucks game 2 years ago

(Humble brag, certainly weren’t my tickets)

Cunningham seems to be an insane athlete who is still navigating how to play in the NBA. He has huge potential- hoping a coach like Monty can draw it out of him.

Unsurprisingly, I was hoping for the tall French guy

and I bet Williams would have taken the job faster (and for less money) if the Pistons had the #1 pick. Oh well.

When you are a Detroit sports fan, patience is key. And Williams strikes me as someone who has the mindset to work a multi-year plan.

P.S. Miami might be the most amazing NBA organization with their success relative to what they have talent wise over the years. Chris Quinn deserves a shot at head coach as well.

Well, we were certainly patient with Casey

Monty had to have seen that. Casey was awful.

Wonder if it's a detroit thing...they seem to be patient

But he really was the worst of the worst of the worst ever. Maybe worse than that. Matt Millen level incompetency.

Love that...worst of the worst of the worst ever! *

was painfully obvious from the get go that he was going to be a terrible head coach.
