Campus Insiders’ Seth Davis recently sat down with Notre Dame head football coach Brian Kelly to discuss a wide range of topics from recruiting, his keys to winning, what makes ND unique and more. In the second half of the interview, Kelly shares his thoughts on Manti Te’o and his initial reactions to the situation that garnered national attention, why he moved his family to South Bend and how he balances work and being a father, the challenges his family has faced, particularly his wife’s battle with cancer, and the passing of videographer Declan Sullivan during a Notre Dame practice and how the program handled the tragedy.

It crushed his daughter (understandably so) to be moving for the third times in six years when he took the ND job yet he interviewed with the Eagles job right after getting blown off the field by Alabama and doesn’t rule out the NFL in the future. Speaks volumes about Brian Kelly and how he views the ND coaching job.
