The Indy500 is turning into something my daughter and I go to, and I'm looking for something my son and I can do. I'm thinking for 2020, not this year.
A couple of guys that used to work for me go every year. There might be a good way of doing it: there also might be a way for me to get you in using industry connections.
Lemme ask anyway.
We all expect something spectacular.
My then fiancé, now wife, and I took my 11 year old son, Nicholas, to Comic-Con in 1991. Not being a big comic book fan at that stage of my life but wanting to allow my son and his best friend, Jeff, as much time at the event over 2 days as they wanted, and not wanting to have to worry about dropping them off and worrying about them wandering around the convention center unescorted, I decided to spring for a couple of hotel rooms at a nice hotel within walking distance.
I treated the event like taking young kids to Disneyland: spring for a few rooms at the Disneyland Hotel and take the Monorail to the park, come back for a midday rest and then go back around sunset, all the while leaving the car in the hotel parking lot.
It was a good decision and we were able to walk to and from the convention center without worrying about parking.
