The game will start at 8:30-ish local time in Italy. There’s not a lot of culture to take in at that hour. But, some of my best times abroad have been finding a local watering hole to watch my favorite team, or a sporting event I’m interested in, play at odd hours. I’ve met some great people and had some experiences that I will never forget in bars I can’t remember the names of with people I’ll never see again.
P.S., as a younger man, I found out (and took full advantage of) that there are a good number of foreign women who secretly find loud, drunk, and obnoxious American men to be extremely desirable. Watching a sporting event in a bar only hastens to deliver the message to any local young lady that you are most certainly a loud, obnoxious American who can really bring it with a little loudmouth soup.
Watch ND Football. Against a shit opponent.
Nahhh. There are more worthwhile ventures.
the moonlight. Wander into a cafe. Have a long leisurely dinner at an incredible local restaurant without worrying about ND vs. some body bag opponent while on a rare trip to one of the world's great cities.
Go buy an MDX (insured by USA@ of course) and a road bike and get back to us
Maybe he will have days or more to explore. He wants to watch ND.
Wisdom is wisdom.
