Closest ND player since then is Golden Tate

Had we been even halfway decent in '09, he would have won the Heisman.

Nearly 1500 yards receiiving, 15 TDs, rushed for 7.4 ypc, and served as primary running back in the Purdue game when Clausen was hurt. Some memorable plays, including the leap into the MSU band aftter scoring the go-ahead, and the circus catch at the end of the half against WSU. And while it was ultimately for naught, the clutch punt return against Pitt, where he called Goodman off the field of his own accord and replaced him.

He was just a freshman. Starts around 2:26.

Niece and husband (IG) both '08 named their son Tate. *

of his hands raised in a WTF sort of way warmed my heart.

Usually, I don't like hotdogs.
But he was our hotdog.

And yes, I too have felt he's been the closest thing to Rocket at ND.
Hope we get another guy to make me feel that way again soon.

Sadly, about the best thing I ever saw in the stadium *

The only guy in his class was Suh, who should have won the award.
