it was a missed opportunity of epic proportions, let's agree to something.

One and done hockey allows for anything.

The Stanley Cup playoffs are GREAT because nobody ever complains (except Buffalo) that the winners didn't earn it. Short of Brett Hull's skate, you get the chance to do what you do.

We would beat UMD in a best of 7. We might not have beaten Denver in a best of 7. That's college hockey. But there is zero, ZERO shame in our fantastic season. A bit of disappointment, and by a bit I mean FUUUUUUUUUCK!!! But there is zero shame with anything to do with this season.

I think as important to note the nature of one and done

is to pair it with how the game is played in 2018. The basketball tournament is one and done too, but there you might have 100 or more scoring plays in a game (each worth different totals of points as well) and in hockey there were slightly over 4 per game in the 7 games UMD and Notre Dame played. Not only do you get one game to advance or go home, it not only MIGHT come down to one mistake, one unfortunate bounce, or one great play, it actually almost always DOES come down to one play.
