She's six foot and jumps out of the gym. She should be closer to the basket, getting rebounds and short shots. Her bread and butter is neither ball handling nor passing, which is not to say she's below average for both.
She's a small forward.
Two of the taller players are all-stars - 6'8" Liz Cambage and 6'4" A'ja Wilson. Veteran forwards Dearica Hamby and Tamera Young play about 19 minutes each. Those four eat up a lot of front line minutes.
Kelsey Plum, Kayla McBride, and Young start along with Cambage and Wilson. Which of those three is the best ball handler and passer? Which one can penetrate and dish to the bigs better than the others. Answer to both questions: Jackie Young.
Rebounding doesn't seem to be an issue with Young at guard. The Aces are getting 6.1 more rebounds per game than their opponents.
Jackie Young at point makes a lot of sense given the Aces' roster.
